Donations

The GVHC has supported the General Hospital in Grenada since 1967. It has also supported several nursing homes, community initiatives and individuals.

The GVHC is proud to have made a contribution to the welfare of the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique and hope to continue doing so for many years to come.

 

This year GVHC have donated:

A consignment of PPE equipment to the General Hospital in Grenada, including an oxygen concentrator to aid Grenada’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

£1000.00 towards the St Vincent Disaster Relief Fund following the volcano that devastated the island

Clothing and other essential items to the Golden Years Day Centre for the elderly (in St Andrews)

Items of clothing and other essentials to the Grand Bacolet Juvenile Rehabilitation Center and the Child Protection Authority for distribution.

Donation Presentation

In 2020 GVHC donated:

An Autoclave to the Richmond Hill Home for the Aged.

An industrial clothes dryer and a refrigerator to the Grand Anse Home for the Aged.

A cooker and washing machine to the Cadrona Home for the Aged.

Donation to the Grenada Disaster Relief Fund following the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Food parcels (via the St Vincent De Paul Organisation) to the needy following the COVID-19 Pandemic

 

 

In 2019 GVHC donated £300 to a project run by the St Georges Methodist School to encourage healthy eating

In 2017 the GVHC together with the St John’s Education Trust donated £5000 to transport a mobile blood collection and processing unit to Grenada.

In 2016 GVHC donated £500 to the Harvey Parry Appeal Fund ( a charity that supports amputees)

In 2015 GVHC donated £5000 to the Ministry of Health towards the purchase of replacement microscopes for the General Hospital.

In 2014 GVHC donated £1000 to the Richmond Hill Home for the Elderly to purchase items to improve the comfort and dignity of it’s residents.

In 2012 GVHC financed the shipment of the Ministry of Health Grenada of 6 CompoGuards machines donated by the Blood for Life Foundation. CompoGuards machines are used to help hospitals manage blood transfusion more efficiently.

In 2011 assistance was given to Beaulieu RC School, Belair Children Home and Fr Halirion Cheshire Home for the Aged, Mt Rodney, St Patrick’s.

In 2010 further assistance was made to the St Martins Home for the Aged, in Crouchu, St Andrews.

In 2009 the GVHC made a donation towards the cost of rebuilding the parish church in Victoria, St Marks that was severely damaged during Hurricane Ivan in September 2004.

In August 2008 the Male Medical ward was adopted. Prior to adopting the Male and Female Medical Wards the GVHC sponsored the children’s ward (Norton Ward) for over 30 years. The GVHC has also assisted the hospital in Carriacou.

In August 2008 GVHC donated medical supplies and equipment to the Femail Medical Ward of the Hospital. The handover ceremony was attended by Grenada’s Minister for Health. The ceremony was reported on the local TV news. The Minister for health received the equipment on behalf of the government and people of Grenada.

In 2007 the GVHC celebrated its 40th anniversary at a ceremony in central London and Grenada’s Minister of Health delivered the feature address. The Minister gave the GVHC an award on behalf of the government and people of Grenada.

In 2006 the GVHC sent a shipment of goods and medical supplies to the St Martin’s Home for the Aged in Crouchu, St Andrews.

In July 2005 the GVHC helped finance a project to re-equip schools in Grenada with computers that were lost as a result of hurricane Ivan.

In June 2004 the GVHC adopted the Female Medical Ward of the General Hospital and a plaque has been placed in the ward in recognition.
